D\u2019interdits en accidents, de trag\u00e9dies en id\u00e9alisations, mobilisant autant la dimension m\u00e9taphysique de la trag\u00e9die que la trivialit\u00e9 d\u2019un show t\u00e9l\u00e9vis\u00e9, il d\u00e9cline les formes d\u2019une repr\u00e9sentation impossible. Form\u00e9 \u00e0 la danse, Christodoulos Panayiotou s\u2019inspire de la premi\u00e8re du ballet La Bayad\u00e8re remont\u00e9 par Rudolf Noureev en 1992, quelques mois avant son d\u00e9c\u00e8s. <em>Dying on Stage <\/em>rassemble des extraits de films, d\u2019op\u00e9ras, de concerts et d\u2019\u00e9missions de vari\u00e9t\u00e9. De Pasolini \u00e0 Amy Winehouse, en passant par Dalida, sa lecture digressive articule ces images \u00ab fant\u00f4mes \u00bb en un long monologue ponctu\u00e9 d\u2019un moment dans\u00e9 par Jean Capeille. Il a r\u00e9cemment expos\u00e9 au Pavillon chypriote de la 56e Biennale de Venise (Italie) ; Casa Luis Barrag\u00e1n, Mexico (Mexique) ; Moderna Museet, Stockholm (Su\u00e8de) ; Kunsthalle Z\u00fcrich (Suisse). Ses \u0153uvres figurent dans de nombreuses expositions collectives, parmi lesquelles : 13e Biennale de Sharjah (\u00c9mirats arabes unis) ; 13e Documenta de Kassel (Allemagne) ; 8e Biennale de Berlin (Allemagne) ; 7e Biennale de Liverpool (Angleterre) ; Centre Pompidou, Paris.
